As a globally active technology group, Toshiba already had 3D CAD models before the cooperation with Mazing. 3D CAD models contain much more product information and technical data than is required for a Web Augmented Reality (Web AR) function. The models are mostly used by Toshiba for production and complex technical explanations. However, they are not made for simple, visual representation on the web. For Toshiba, we at Mazing GmbH have adapted the existing 3D CAD models to Web AR so that the design and loading time of the display are first-class. The air conditioning system can also be customized thanks to our 3D / AR configurator. With the AR placement on the wall, it is possible to see at a glance which model fits best in the room in terms of size and design. Before our service, Toshiba customers had difficulty making decisions and were often dissatisfied with their design. Toshiba now offers to test the indoor unit before purchase, which increases customer satisfaction and is another unique selling point for the company. We have also programmed an augmented reality checkout button so that the air conditioning system can be purchased immediately after the AR placement.

Customers can design the air conditioning system individually and place it optimally in the room using AR.
Before our customization, customers had difficulty making a decision. Now they can test the product before buying, which increases satisfaction and gives Toshiba a unique selling point. An AR checkout button enables direct purchase. The benefits are higher sales, fewer returns and higher customer satisfaction.
