“Especially the children love to play with the AR model. Finally every customer has a digital souvenir from our hotel.“ – The Ladstätter family, Bärnehotel

Hotels in 3D and Augmented Reality

A slightly different project. Who would have thought that augmented reality could also be used to market a hotel? Among other things, no less than Karl Kratz.

Together with him we implemented this great project with the Bärenhotel in South Tyrol. The hotel has been embedded in a beautiful landscape, which presents the ski resort, the mountains and nature as a cartoon. To top it off, even the ski lift and an eagle were animated.

Today, the model is mainly used for customer retention. For example, a QR code is printed on the postcards, which leads to the digital model. This gives customers a digital souvenir, so to speak. This triggered great enthusiasm, especially among the children.

"Mom, Dad, that's where I want to go!" was the result after the digital model was proudly presented at school.

Right now, augmented reality is being used more and more in the hotel industry. Also Instagram filters like with the Aqualux thermal baths are a great opportunity for customer acquisition and retention.

AR as a marketing tool in the hotel industry

More and more customers are becoming familiar with AR and expect an immersive shopping experience. This trend is being pushed even further by the big players like Amazon and Ikea. With web augmented reality, a much more willing mass can be addressed because no app download is necessary. This is the only way for Glowbus to use this feature.

The popularity of augmented reality in various industries is witnessing incredible growth of almost 20% CAGR. Businesses can continue to expect greater growth from the use of AR for hotels as the development intensifies, which is a big development not only for big industry but also for small and medium-sized businesses.
